Day 1

Arrival at Leh Airport. Leh is at an elevation of 3500 mtr above sea level and is in the abode of the rocky paradise of Ladakh depicting eternal beauty and wrapped in the most beautiful design of mighty Himalayas. You will be received by our representative and transferred to Hotel. Traditional check-in, welcome tea/coffee will be served. Enjoy your stay at Hotel. Half day rest to get acclimatize. Later in the evening proceed to visit nearby places like Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa and Leh Palace.

Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks to promote world peace. This large hilltop stupa has brightly colored reliefs on its mid-levels and is topped by a spired white hemisphere (smoking is prohibited here). The stupa has become a tourist attraction not only due to its religious significance but also due to its location which provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape & Leh town. Visit the eye-catching Sankar Gompa. Lastly, visit Leh Palace, dilapidated yet interesting, which was built in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the Leh Main Bazaar (on your own) situated in the heart of the city which is a medley of shops old and new. Be it Pashmina shawls or Pizzas from Italy you can find it all here. The vegetable and fruits market is a place where you can find fresh organic grown food. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast drive about 90 km round tour (4 to 5 hrs) en-route visit Sindhu Ghat, Shey Palace, 3-Idiot School, Thiksey Gompa & Hemis Monastery and drive via beautiful landscaped villages and natural surroundings. Overnight at Hotel.

Sindhu Ghat is situated at 10 km upstream the Indus River from Leh near Shey, it is a peaceful river bank. The Sindhu River originates near Mansarover Lake and Mt. Kailash in Tibet and enters into India and flows through the Leh and surrounding valley. Shey Palace, the 15th century summer palace and monastery of Leh’s Royal Family. It is located 15 km from the main Leh town towards Hemis. The palace was built more than 555 yrs ago. The monastery is noted for its giant copper-gold statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha and is said to be the second largest statue in Ladakh at 12 mtr (39 ft).

3 Idiot School/Rancho’s School, originally named as “The Druk White Lotus School” is located in Shey of Ladakh region. The school was started at the request of the Ladakhi people who wanted a school that would help maintain their rich cultural traditions while equipping their children for a life in the 21st century. The school was featured in a 2007 episode of “Human Network” advertisement and as well as in the Aamir Khan movie 3 Idiots.

Thiksey Gompa, the 800 year old gompa at Thiksey village built on a hilltop and modeled on the famous Potala Palace in Lhasa (Tibet). Approximately 19 km east of Leh. It has the largest Buddha statue deified in the monastery in clay, gold paint and copper. Hemis Monastery is a Buddhist gompa of the Drukpa Lineage, located in south-east of Leh at around 45 km from Leh, the monastery was re-established in 1672 by the Ladakhi king Singey Namgyal. The annual Hemis festival honoring Padmasambhava is held here in early June every year. It is one of the most important monasteries of Leh.

Day 3

After breakfast, this morning, drive to Nubra Valley, (125 km. approx. / 5-6 hrs.) Popularly known as Ldurma or ‘the valley of flowers’ via *Khardongla Pass* – the world’s one of the highest motorable road (18380 ft. / 5602 mts) and enjoy the magnificent views on the way & on the top. Check-in to your private camp on arrival.

Later in the evening visit the white silver sand dunes at Hunder where you can enjoy the Double Humped Bactrian Camel Safari (ride on direct payment basis) followed by a lovely walk on Sand Dunes. Overnight at Private Camp/Hotel in Hunder (Nubra).

Day 4

After breakfast drive back to Leh, visit Diskit Gompa on the way. En-route stop for a while at Khardong-la top, while coming back only. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 5

Full day tour, after early breakfast drive Leh to Lamayuru 128 Kms (6 to 7 hours). Enjoy the Scenic beauty of mesmerizing Moon Landscapes and Lamayuru Monastery (one of the oldest Monastery in Ladakh). Visit Alchi, (3500 mts / 11500 feet) a small village in the Indus Valley, 67 kms west of Leh. Abandoned centuries ago the gompa or monastery is known as Chos-kor or religious enclave and comprises of five temples. En route see the majestic Sangam – Confluence (where Indus & Zanskar Rivers meet each other). See the marvelous Magnetic Hill, a gravity hill located near Leh. The hill is alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape magnetic interference. Visit Military Hall of Fame, a glorious museum constructed by Indian army. You can see biographies of eminent defense personalities, images and weapons used during Kargil war, Siachen and its heroes and their daily instruments and lifestyle of Ladakhi people. You will also visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a beautiful Gurudwara constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak, about 25 miles away from Leh. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6

After breakfast drive to PANGONG LAKE, (125 km. / 4-5 hrs.) at 4400 mts., towards east of Leh crossing the Chang-la pass 17500 ft. & driving via Durbuk and Tangtse Villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh. During winter, the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water. It changes its color 4-5 times a day and also one of the highest natural salt water lake in the world shared by two countries INDIA & CHINA. Spend a couple of hours alongside the lake. Don’t forget to click photos!! Drive back to Leh. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 7

After breakfast drop back to Leh Airport to fly back to your own destination with sweet memories of Ladakh​…. TOUR ENDS…!!!
